Make Your Bathroom Feel Like a Spa

spa bathroom ideas

You don't have to spend big bucks to get a day at the spa - make your own bathroom an escape for the senses. Relax in your own space, your own way. Get the spa feel with our spa-licious tips.

1. Plants and Greenery

If your bathroom has windows, find a way to grow as many plants as possible. Use THIS guide to help you choose plants you love that help contribute to that spa feeling. If you don't have natural light, you can look for silk or artificial plants or display cuttings of plants that dry nicely, such as eucalyptus sticking out of a stylish jar or vase. Eucalyptus also helps freshen the air in your bathroom for an added bonus!

2. Stylish Shower Curtain

Your shower curtain helps set the mood in your bathroom. Choose something minimal and fresh to set the spa tone. Pay attention to textures as well as colour - a soft cream or white waffle weave shower curtain can make the bathroom feel fresh (colour) as well as comforting (texture).

3. Towels, Towels, Towels!

Hang towels on towel racks, on a hook on the back of the door, place them in baskets or on stools. Have bath towels, hand towels and washcloths close by. Make neat stacks of lush towels on the side of the tub. the only thing nicer than a warm bath is the feeling of a soft towel around you when you're ready to get out.

4. Bathmat

Bamboo bathmats have a great spa feeling as well as terrific functionality. If you prefer something softer, again, stick to fresh and neutral colours.

5. Candles and Scents

Smell can help relax all the senses - choose scents like lavender, eucalyptus, vanilla or your own favourite relaxing blend.

6. Get Your Shower Supplies Together

Keep your bath and shower supplies close by for easy access. Use a caddy or find a basket that you can display them in. Think about store displays and what entices you to want the items and display your own favourite supplies that way. Mix bath bubbles with bath bombs and moisturizers with loofas - make it easy to enjoy your time in your spa bathroom!

7. Display Some Art

Just like any room in your house, display some art you love. Pieces that make you feel relaxed or that remind you of natural elements are always a good choice. Again, stick to a muted, fresh or natural colour palette.

Choosing even just a few of these elements for your bathroom will change the way you feel about it. Let us know what tips you used to give your bathroom a spa like feel!
