The legend behind the design
Craigdarroch Castle is one of Victoria’s most storied haunted landmarks. Over the years, visitors and staff have shared legends of apparitions, unexplained footsteps, and a persistent sense of being watched. Stories often center on members of the Dunsmuir family, including a stern matriarchal presence and the spirit of a child said to linger in the upper rooms. This artwork blends those tales into a single cinematic moment—memory, grief, and the house itself refusing to let go.
